Re: DMR to DSTAR

The codecs used are different, so the OS3 has an AMBE encoder to allow this to work.

It can't be done in the OS1 or OS2.

Thanks for the confirmation. So after the initialization the country of operation cannot be changed.
Pretty sure that it requires a factory reset to get back to the initialisation page, of course this resets everything.

Re: Japan model available for pre-order?

The first step in the out-of-box setup is to choose your country, that will control the available frequencies to meet the local radio laws.

Re: AMBE and FM on OpenSpot3

I fully understand that this is not something Shark is pursuing; but from a hardware perspective, there is no such thing as a 'digital only' radio. Making this work would require additional timing recovery in the Rx (to cope with the lack of frame/bit timing in an FM analogue transmitter) and an an...

Re: Browser resets and looses connection to OS2

I can't load new firmware as I can't find a download site , only seems offered in the WEB GUI. It's running V58 right now but wanted to see if V59 fixes this issue for us. If you use the advanced settings check box you should be able to select the use beta firmware check box. However at present the...

Re: Aimed at DSTAR mostly?

Hardware transcoding also allows audio gain to be adjusted during transcoding, so for ex. no more distorted voice when receiving a DMR transmission on a Fusion transceiver. A good point! I nearly had my eardrums blown out last night by someone with impressively loud audio. I was listening on my FT1...

Hi, thanks for yourself reply.
How would I do this on my iPhone as that’s what I use to view the information?
Pretty sure this is in the Settings tab of the OS interface, you probably need to scroll down a bit to find it.

Status page graphs too wide on Android browsers

All of the scrolling graphs are much wider than the page, you can't see the graph lines until they scroll left and there are no axis values visible without moving the display sideways.

Slow browser response on Android

I'm finding that while my openSPOT2 is fine when accessed via a browser from Windows and Linux, it's not very responsive using any browser on Android (Galaxy S9 with Android 9.0). Chrome, Firefox and FF preview all act the same way. Specifically I frequently get a blank page except for the header ba...
