The openspot is simplex so the color code is basicly irrelavent when using it .

You could email Leo @ Kenwood tech support and ask him about it ? Or even Ray @ Icom would know as dstar is more there baby. To bad the Kenwood smoked Icom offerings .

I am an audiophile and swear most people don't hear it but DMR & C4FM sound a thousand times better than dstar, it might ge the newer codec or something but i can tell weird things in audio , people come over to my place sll thevtime and saybwhat slhum arebuou listening to ? Why on earth would you want that to go thru openspot ? , but actually I would think it would already pass it ,because if the data is in the stream from the radio openspot passes it,of course you have to have it all set up and working in local use which is what its really for a proximity alert to ano...

If you are looking for code plugs, google grapevine amateur radio , the guy that owns it is a big DMR guy and has started a code plug repository that you can upload and download code plugs,only problem you might have is he is in Texas so he may not be available due to power loss or flooding . You and I both know that MD380 at 100 bucks would be a far better option. But one thing I have learned in my 55 years as a ham that all hams are cheap skates and if they can make a $60 radio work for their purposes they ain't going to spend $100.[emoji1] You are so right ? I don't know how openspot will handle it ,but I can say that most DMR admistraiters banned those radios from use because they don't comply , I might suggest if he just bought it return it ,for less than $100 most places will sell you the md380 or 390 because the md2017 came out which is dual band ,e...

You can get some decent books on amazon regards digital operation in dstar/dmr/ even echolink for inexpensive that cover what you need to know in order to get the basics of operation.
