Re: New User - No Audio

When all else failed I scanned through the forum pages and eventually came across that the modulation should be set to 4FSK (raised cosign). I am very disappointed that this small but significant bit of information is not placed in the online manual. All the literature on purchasing a SharkRF boast...

TDMA Setting?

I only use my MD-380 with my Openspot as there are no DMR repeaters in my area. What setting should I use for TDMA in the modems settings? It appears to be enabled as default?

Re: 127

the demodulator in some of the MD-3x0 radios seems very sensitive to inter-symbol interference and using 4FSK RC should minimise this. This is interesting. I am now using OpenSpot 0123 firmware with 4FSK. Rx audio is excellent. When I use the later firmware versions with 4FSK RC,the RX audio is not...

There are two versions of the MD-380 - Old vocoder and new vocoder.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Vocoder means voice encoder and is used for transmission, not RX?? The problems discussed here in this topic concern RX problems, not TX problems.

Re: 127

My CPS reads the MCU version as D013.020 Before I put MD380 ToolZ on it, the MCU version was D013.034 My MD-380 was bought new only a couple weeks ago. My Openspot is about 5 weeks old and was bought from HRO in USA. Before I got the MD-380 I used a FT2DR fusion radio with the openspot and had no is...

Re: 127

The main concern is the quality of Chinese radios and the lack of conformity with the DMR standard. Here is an example: NO.. The main concern here is the MD-380's all worked fine before the Openspot 0127 update. My MD-380 is the same radio, it is the Openspot firmware that has changed. It's easy to...

Re: 127

K9IUQ: what factory Tyt firmware version do you use on the MD380 which does not work? I use MD380Toolz which is available here: https://kg5rki.com/new2/tymd380.html FWIW I just sent an email to you describing my experience with the test firmware files you sent me. After doing the testing I reloaded...

Re: 127

The latest firmware version on TYT site is 13.32 can be download from here: KD0WLB seems to be using the original factory firmware but K9IUQ is the hacked firmware. Anyone who has used the MD380Tools firmware is NOT going to want to go back to factory firmware. The MD380Tools firmware brings too ma...

Re: 127

I looked at it again in my radio and the CP is version 1.34. I am using MD380tools firmware but do not see a version number in the radio, just the date of 2017-8-19

13.34 works with no issue and i am running .127 right now.
I just checked my MD-380 firmware version and it is 1.34. My radio has miserable RX audio on Openspot versions 0127 and higher. I now use version 0123 and the RX audio is excellent.
