USB C

Is the USB C port on the new openSPOT2 host mode capable? I know it'll be the power input port, as well as the serial console port, but could it be used in the future with a software update to drive a nextion screen? Having the ability to add an inexpensive touchscreen to the openSPOT and software s...

Re: OpenSpot V1 versus V2

I want to start by saying that I love my 2 openSPOT v1 devices. I suspect the v2 devices will sell reasonably well because they provide an alternative to the pi based systems, and there are people that appreciate that. Additionally, you don't have to wade through 50 bazillion varieties of hardware t...

Re: FCS002 Intermittant

yes, glad to know it wasn't just me. I ran into this yesterday, then went back over to FCS001 and ignored the problem. Of course, I was just hammering away at the API, not actually trying to communicate, so it was an easy problem for me to ignore.

I didn't even try today.

Re: json API

On the subject of the API, I'm back to working with it again... I've found in modempacket.cgi that you can post with sync_word_count, sync_word1, sync_word2... Mine responded with a sync_word3 as well, prompting me to think that the sync_word_count might be able to be greater than 3. Is there an act...

network "spigot" feature

It occurs to me that having a feature the user could turn on to cause the openspot to do a UDP broadcast on a known port (or user selectable port) at the beginning and end of each contact with some basic information (talk group, source dmr id, etc for DMR, and appropriately known information for the...

Re: DHCP client issues

I thought I posted this earlier, but apparently I forgot to hit submit after preview. Anyway, I wasn't convinced that the dhcp renewal process using source port 0 was the issue, so I decided to work on proving it one way or another. The simplest test I could think of was to catch a failing ren...

Re: DHCP client issues

I was excited to try the beta, and installed it monday. However, the shifting of IP address that caused me to dig into this in the first place continued to happen. Today, I dug up the ethernet hub again so I could do more wireshark sniffing, and see that the openspot still sends from source port 0 f...

DMR SSID?

This is not really an openspot specific question, but I'm still rather new to DMR and haven't found a clear answer elsewhere. I've been using the DMR SSID feature on one of my openspots (appending 2 digits to my DMR ID#, 99 in my case). I'm getting ready to program a second radio and wondered if I s...
