Re: Voice announcements

Wonder why I am only getting the 4000 disconnect announcement on my CS800D but not my CS750? Pretty sure I have both code plugs programmed the same.

Voice announcements

What voice announcements are available? I only seem to get profile announcement and connected to server and talkgroup on boot-up of the Openspot 2. I also get the disconnected announcement when I do a 4000 groupcall on my CS800D but not when I use my CS750. I do have TG9 in my receive group for all ...

Re: Mobile Hotspot Plans

I believe the limiting factor of range would be receiver sensitivity not transmitter power. The Openspot 1 had an external antenna and some experimented with base station antennas including myself. The most range I am aware of anybody getting was about a mile, not very useful for going mobile.

Re: Mobile Hotspot Plans

I am only paying $45 for my Verizon business account for my iPhone with unlimited everything.

There is no way to connect the Openspot 2 to an external antenna and even if you could range would be very limited so plan on using your mobile hotspot when you go mobile.

Re: Openspot with TPlink and hotspot

The wifi that the TP-link is programmed for needs to be up and running and the TP-link successfuly connected to it. You then connect your computer to that wifi i.e. your...

Re: Separate DMR ID Needed for Openspot

If you have two Openspots running at the same time you should have separate IDs otherwise only your regular ID is needed.

Re: Baofeng UV5R

You and I both know that MD380 at 100 bucks would be a far better option. But one thing I have learned in my 55 years as a ham that all hams are cheap skates and if they can make a $60 radio work for their purposes they ain't going to spend $100.😄

Baofeng UV5R

I have a friend that recently bought a Baofeng UV5R hoping to use it on DMR which was a mistake since though they claim it is a tier 2 radio it in fact is not and transmits on both timeslots at the same time which creates big problems when used on a DMR repeater. Anyway he was probably going to have...

Re: Price of the OpenSPOT

The law of supply and demand says that if demand increases that the price goes up not down.
