Re: Can I use my ATT router instead of that damn TP-1?

The only reason to use a TPLink or othe similar router with the Openspot is for mobile operation with smartphone or other cellular hotspot. At home it is much simpler just to use a cat 5 cable between the Openspot and your home router.

Re: How do you locate the IP address on an iPhone?

I have my TPlink WR702N configured in the client mode and can scan for my Openspot IP address easily with an iPhone app called iNet. The WR702N is a slower earlier version of the WR802N. I am not a networking expert and don't know what the difference is between the client and bridge modes but do kno...

Re: Dumb TG4000 Quick Call Question.

Actually using a 4000 group call will disconnect you from both talkgroups and reflectors while the 4000 private call will only disconnect you from reflectors.

Re: How could I open a DMR repeater via a Openspot?

Not quite sure what you mean by "open a DMR repeater". But if you desire to use you Openspot or and other hotspot to communicate over the Brandmeister network with your repeater, simply configure the repeater to have its ID number set as a static talkgroup on which ever timeslot you desire. Then you...

Re: OpenSpot with Tp-Link setup

I use iNet app to determine what the IP address of my Openspot is while connected to my TPlink and iphone personal hotspot. Then use that address using Safari browser in iPhone to access the Openspot web interface.

You need to use an ip address rather than Openspot when using an iPhone or iPad.

Re: Quick Call feature

Quick call is intended to do a 4000 disconnect as you move from talkgroup to talk group. To connect to talkgroups that you don't have preprogrammed in your radio put the desired talkgroup in the rerouting box and do a save. Then use TG9 in your radio to cconnect and use the talkgroup. When you chang...

Re: Trigger the connector 4000 Quick Call

I think he means to trigger the 4000 disconnect by transmitting with his radio. Of course this is impossible while there is traffic transmitting on the talkgroup you are connected to since the Openspot is a simplex device. The whole point of the 4000 quick disconnect is to enable a disconnect with o...

Re: Reroute Quickcall TG Network to TG9 (local) Modem

The quick call is intended to do a quick call using the Openspot web interface instead of using your radio. It is most useful to do a 4000 disconnect when changing to a new talkgroup. You should do this when changing talkgroups or you may end up connected to 2 talkgroups at once for a while. Under a...
