Manual switching of wifi connection

Post by kd2pm » Mon Feb 11, 2019 6:41 pm

I have found that the OS2 doesnt necessarily pick the strongest signal out of the network access points that it can hear and will go to the 1st one it hears regardless of the signal strength of the others. It may be unique to me but I do have 2 AP's in the house and the one upstairs is the 1st one on the list. My basement AP is 4th on the list. #2 and #3 are my phone and office.

So when I power up the OS2, it automatically goes to the 1st AP on the list and that just happens to be the weakest one based upon when I am in the basement.

Perhaps a future feature would be to have the OS2 scan all items on the list, and find the best signal 1st rather than go sequential down the list.

Also, if possible, provide us a button on the web browser if we are monitoring the OS2 and be able to select which AP we want to use manually.

You should set all your APs to the same SSID and then the OS2 will stick to the one with the strongest signal (or which it can reach).
