Option to turn off SharkRF Link?

Post by SM0RUX » Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:38 pm

Hi,

From an integrity and privacy perspective I think it would be a good idea to have the option to turn off the possibility to turn off SharkRF Link. First of all the Device ID is send in clear (I guess). I also guess you use some WebRTC function to find the local IP address of the openSPOT2.

The function is convenient for some users, but for those of us capable of either find the IP address in our LAN or by just sending .......A (when using D-STAR) it is no need to send Device ID in clear.

Thanks in advance!

The device uses a HTTPS connection to send the device UID and local IP address. WebRTC is not used.

Again, thanks a lot for super fast support!

Thanks for clarification! I'm happy with your answer and will now go back to sleep :)
