Did the remove power from device.

Remove the USB plug and then holding the button on the device plugged it into a USB2 socket of the computer and released the button a few seconds later.

The LED shows white flashing for a second or so, then red flashing for a little longer, then blue fairly quickly and then it alternates between green and yellow at approx 1 second each continuously.

The PC has a new com6 added...

No sign of a new drive?

Can you open COM6 with a terminal app like PuTTY? https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgt ... atest.html
If yes, enter the command flc
This takes about 2-3 minutes to complete, and after that, enter rbb
Does rbb take the device to the bootloader and is the LED yellow?

Got putty thank you...

Putty Screen

sercon: inf: SharkRF openSPOT2 (openspot2)
SRF-OSW-1.0 au v0017 51E4671F up 20649 wl 5.7.0 GS2K_BUILDER_26314
diag 0,0000000c,0000000a,00000046,00000033,00000034,00000035,00000036
ready.
flc
sercon: erasing flash...
sercon: flash erased
rbb

rbb just made the led go out and nothing now, the usb lost the connection as well?

Do I disconnect it from the PC and plug the power supply in?

Restarted the openspot2 in the usb port again and entered rbb and:

sercon: inf: SharkRF openSPOT2 (openspot2)
SRF-OSW-1.0 au v0017 51E4671F up 139 wl 5.7.0 GS2K_BUILDER_26314
diag 0,0000000d,0000000a,00000046,00000033,00000034,00000035,00000036
ready.
rbb

Led flashes yellow and then nothing...

second try with the commands:

Led flashed red whilst the flash is being erased then goes to green and yellow alternating.

Putty Screen

sercon: inf: SharkRF openSPOT2 (openspot2)
SRF-OSW-1.0 au v0017 51E4671F up 88 wl 5.7.0 GS2K_BUILDER_26314
diag 0,0000000e,0000000a,00000046,00000033,00000034,00000035,00000036
ready.
flc
sercon: erasing flash...
sercon: flash erased
rbb

Flashes yellow then led goes out and gets a windows error that putty cannot comunicate anymore, a short time after that the usb is not recognised.

I have another windows machine and I will give that a try tommorow...

Ok, now please try normal upgrading to the latest firmware. The bootloader's LED should be yellow, that's normal. I just wanted to know if you can enter bootloader mode.

Thanks for your help....

I did leave it running last night and as usual it attempted the upgrade and failed at 4 am.

What I have tried:

Upgrade to v19 now...

Different PC and running it from the PC power, as soon as it starts the upgrade I get one yellow flash then the light goes out and no further action.

Tried the other windows 10 machine on both USB3 and USB2 ports with exactly the same result, as soon as it starts the upgrade I get one yellow flash then the light goes out and no further action.

Tried the openspot2 with its standard power supply and I get the same result.

Moved to another room and tried it again with the standard power supply and got the same result.

At the moment I have disabled upgrades and it appears to be working...

I will turn it off now and await the next step.

I have a pi-star that I can use in the mean time...
