Downloading firm ware and database

I usually have to make several attempts to download database or firmware. May be due to my internet service as it is wireless since I live in the sticks where there is no fiber or cable available.

I wish that when a download fails it would save what has been downloaded so it didn’t have to start all over. Sometimes I get close to having 100% when it fails but have to start all over. Very frustrating.

Just leave the OS2 turned on and it will automatically download all updates.

Left OS2 on last night and it still didn’t download the new database. It is set to auto download at 4AM.

On 3 attempts to manually download this morning it failed each time at about 30%.

I also have been experiencing all the above same issues with multiple download dropouts/failures along with extra data plan utilization due to downloads having to start over each time. Shark Guys, please try to fix or improve this data and time wasting issue. Thank You.

We'll adjust some settings in the next beta firmware which should help.

Problem with the new firmware update I won't be to download it. No matter what I try the download fails. Only had 3 successful downloads in the last 100 tries. I have 2 openspot2s and have multiple hotspots and it is always the same, the download stalls, then times out.

Switched from Chrome to Firefox, same problem, says different error now:

Looks like an CRC error.

The OS2 downloads updates itself, the browser's type is irrelevant. Stalled for 15 seconds means the OS2 did not receive data for 15 seconds, so it drops the connection, and then the check reports the downloaded file is not complete (data size error).

As I mentioned in my previous post, the next beta firmware will have adjusted settings so downloads can resume more easily.

I am getting all updates but I've found that Australian names have been stripped from the database. This happened 2 weeks ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pete - vk4nbl
