Protective Case for OpenSpot3

Post by KB5SCW »

Hey folks,

Let me say that I am completely happy with my OpenSpot3 purchase! SUCH an outstanding device and I'm throughly happy!

Has anyone found a type of "rubberized" protective case/shell that can be put around the OpenSpot3? I know that the plastic is pretty durable; however, I'd like to have something that the OpenSpot3 slips into and is kept free of dings/scratches, etc. Anyone using anything like this? Right now, I just have a little felt "baggie" that I'm keeping in it.

One more thing? Where Can I buy an OpenSpot1? I have a Pi-Star-based hotspot which I really like----but having some weird issues with it. If I can't resolve, I may see about getting an OpenSpot1 to keep perpetually running at home, connected via ethernet cable.

THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE,

I found an old flip phone case at the dollar tree store that works great.

Don't laugh---- but I tried "2" of these silicon toe caps:

--- and it was "sorta" workable. :P

Not the ideal solution; so, I took them off. I'm going to keep looking. I might try and find an old flip phone case like you did. Oooooor, maybe it's time for me to get the wife's permission to buy a 3D printer. ;)
