Powering OS3

Post by mskelto »

I have read the manuals recommendations about using the supplied wall wart, computer, or other USB charging device. Unfortunately I don't have an USB port in my vehicle. I run my RPI from a hardwired 12v to 5v, 3A buck converter. I also have one of these that has there USB-c connector as well. Can this be used to power/charge the OS3 or does there need to be some smarts to limit the charge current or does the OS3 take care of this.

Thanks

You can power it from a 5V power source, but make sure it can supply 800mA current (or disable fast charging and then 500mA is enough).
