P25 voice decoding and encoding is not supported by AMBE hardware.

We use an HBLink reflector to x-connect our DMR Talkgroup over to P25, works pretty well!

Per DVSI's website: "The enhanced full-rate AMBE+2™ vocoder is fully compatible with the older IMBE™ vocoder that was used in the APCO Project 25 Phase 1. Both vocoder rates can be set to run with or without Forward Error Correction."

The vocoder maybe compatible, but the hardware they sell is not. They used to sell IMBE compatible vocoder hardware, but these are no longer available.

"USB-3000-P25 TM
The USB-3000? P25 includes DVSI's patented Enhanced Dual-Rate Vocoder technology that is fully inter-operable with APCO Project 25 standard (TIA-102BABA). The USB-3000? P25 provides the enhanced AMBE+2? "full-rate" vocoder (7200 bps) plus the AMBE+2? enhanced "half-rate" (3600 bps) vocoder that are used in APCO Project 25 Phase 2. The enhanced full-rate AMBE+2? vocoder is fully compatible with the older IMBE? vocoder that was used in the APCO Project 25 Phase 1. Both vocoder rates can be set to run with or without Forward Error Correction. In addition to the APCO Project 25 rates, the USB-3000? P25 also supports all of the 61 built in rates that are available on the standard version USB-3000?. Refer to the USB-3000? Users Manual for more details."

I can be pretty sure that what is inside the openSPOT3 is not one of those, so unless the chip used in one of the USB keys is available then it wouldn't be possible to use it.

Thank you for the product link, but the ICs used in these USB sticks are not sold anymore.
