Sometimes WiFi is not possible, in some Hotels for example where you have no chance to connect, because they use a web page for login. Once logged in with a notebook you could forward the WiFi to the notebooks ethernet port.

Other reason: much more stable via Ethernet.

You can try using MAC cloning on networks which use a login page. The method is described in the OS3 user manual.

I never travel without a "travel router". I always want to isolate my connections from the hotel as much as possible. Create your own network! This addresses your issue, especially if there's an Ethernet connection available. For wi-fi, log in with your phone's browser and connect to the router with your OS.

Some of the modern Android phones allow you to create a mobile hotspot based off the phone's wifi connection. The Pixel 3 and Samsung's galaxy/note 10 series allow this. This is one way to get around the login page issue.

I have to agree, it would be a great addition to have a wired Ethernet built in. Maybe another option would be to use a USB-C Ethernet adapter but it would have to powe the unit in addition to data transfer. POE comes to mind. My reasoning for Ethernet is stability over Wi-Fi.
