Dstar 'blip!'

Post by M3SXA »

All set up (correctly I hope) d-star on a Id51+2 handy, was using it on 4G and also tried it on home wi-fi kept getting dropouts and notice every so often my rssi is would be constant at -46 -47 and suddenly would go yellow and would be -86 just a blip but annoying and am always getting complaints about the dropouts.

I have been using beta 49 but noticed there was a later one 53 so updated to that and getting a friend to check its definitely better but still get those -86 blip just wonder any suggestions as what to try, we are going to try it on c4fm later today see if it happens there as well..
Home wi-fi speeds if it helps are 28 down 7 up
Edit: c4fm is fine

You can see what is exactly happening in the device log on the Status page. Make sure Advanced mode is turned on at the bottom right of the web interface to see the log.

Please first test the connection between your transceiver and the openSPOT3 using the OS3's built-in local echo service. http://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot3/en ... ho-service

Note that the D-STAR local echo only records a few seconds.

You can also switch the active connector to the Null connector in D-STAR mode and transmit continuously to the OS3 and look at the call log, device log, or RSSI graph.

Thanks for reply Norbert, seems ok now, in this short log it went to -86just very briefly once, the very very short echo test sounds ok, and the rssi graph shows -47 constanly so just see how I get on, my friend did say since I installed v53b from 49b there was hardly any drop outs
