Need help part 2

Post by MNBenny »

Hi there Everyone,

So after shutting the os3 off for a couple of months I turned it back on and tried to do this all over again. It took the callsign database upgrade with no problem. However it won’t take the firmware upgrade. I’m running V29 and the current version 41. During the upgrade it wants to start all over again. I mean it gets to 60% and then it starts all over again. The OS3 is connected to the ipad.

Any thoughts on this?

Happy Thanksgiving early & 73,

Try placing the OS3 close to your Wi-Fi router. Also make sure the unit is plugged into a power supply, otherwise the upgrade won't start.

The call sign database is not updating for me either. It tries and then
freezes at various levels. Sometimes at 13% and sometimes as high as 51%
but it never finishes.

- Place the openSPOT3 close to the Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi bandwith is set to max. 20Mhz in the Wi-Fi router (see explanation here: https://superuser.com/questions/542191/ ... less-speed)
- If it still does not work, try switching Wi-Fi channel on your Wi-Fi router. Only channels 1, 6 or 11 should be used (see explanation here: https://www.metageek.com/training/resou ... -6-11.html)

It is on channel and only about 5ft from the router.
It has always worked perfectly in the past.
Cannot get it done today.

I found that changing the connector to NULL, the
update did install when there was no
traffic coming in.
