Openspot in server mode.

Post by ka9zrz »

How do I set up multiple open spots to connect to my open spot in server mode? Do the talk groups have to be the same? Do the color code have to be the same? And what are the limitations on how many open spots can connect to a single open spot in server mode ?

If you want to connect more than one openSPOT together, then you have to use the SharkRF IP Connector Protocol server (source code available on GitHub at https://github.com/sharkrf/srf-ip-conn-srv, the easiest way to run it is through Docker, or the VMware image provided by one of the forum users). openSPOT's built-in server can only accept one connection at a time.

Talkgroups have to match, color code does not matter.

Perhaps, I should try again with different color codes.
I did some experiments today. The color code setting should be same in the all openspots communicating via the ip-server otherwise no sound is heard nor modem tx activated. The udp-packets are forwarded to the clients but if the cc differs the tx of the opensspot is not activated.

Yes you are correct. We'll change this behavior.
