Yeasu Ft-70DR and DP-ID and sharkrf

Post by KN4IUA » Fri Mar 30, 2018 6:32 pm

I just purchased a SHARKRF. I'm rather new to HAM but I really want to get connected to other repeaters using the sharkrf. I was reading the manual for the FT-70DR and it says I need a DP-ID to put in my radio and I was also seeing that the sharkrf config was asking for some Digital ID's for the fusion repeater network but I can't seem to find out how to get any of these ID's. Or how to find the way to configure the FT-70DR for the sharkrf properly. Is there anyone that can help me out with this?

Set the DPID to 0 (that means you'll address all receiving stations).

I've been trying to figure out how to set DP-ID to 0 but can't seem to find the way to do it on the radio. The advanced manual doesn't seem to have the proper steps at least when I try it it doesn't do anything.

I guess I don't understand the steps because I see no way to actually input a DP-ID.

What exactly do you want to do? What connector and server would like to use? What error message did you receive?

I'm trying to configure my sharkrf and radio to talk out on FCS network. But I'm not having much luck with any of it yet.

Is your openSPOT connected successfully to the FCS server (status field is "standby" on the status page)?
Try connecting to room 99 (echo) to test your settings.

Ok so I assume that because its in standby it is connected properly. But I can't seem to get the room 99 echo test to work for me. So must be something wrong on my radio. I'm sorry for all this as I'm very new to HAM as a whole not just the shark.

Does the status page's "connected to" field show FCS001/099 or something like that, which means you are connected to FCS room 99?
Does the modem LED blink when you press PTT on the radio?
