Status LED Continuous blinking red

Post by GM6BRU »

I have followed the setting up instructions and updated the firmware on my SharkRF. The only time the Status LED is continuous green is during auto calibration in DMR. When I revert to DMR or any other mode the status LED resumes blinking red. The SharkRF communicates with my Tytera radio Tx and RX but cannot access the Brandmeister DMR system. I have checked my BT Router and found no problems. Has anyone any ideas on this one?

Fast blinking red status led means openSPOT is trying to connect, but it can't. Check the server password as GW4VRO mentioned, and your connector settings. If you still can't connect, post a screenshot of your connector settings so we can look at your configuration (please turn on advanced mode before taking the screenshots).

Thanks to you both for your help. The passw1rd answer has sorted the problem.

For some reason, the openSPOT still has the old passw0rd in the firmware for the UK server. It was changed to passw1rd some time ago. Stumbling block for many UK users at first.

openSPOT does not store passwords for the servers, the server password is set to passw0rd by default.

You can calibrate openSPOT for DMR use by activating the DMR AutoCal connector.

After activating this connector, press and hold PTT until a result is available. The progress bar will go up to 100% after about 1-2 minutes of continuous transmitting with your radio. After a DMR demodulation mode result is available, it is automatically set, and you can release the PTT.

DMR echo test works as normal, but note that RSSI and BER graph data is unavailable when this connector is active.

If AutoCal won’t start for you when you press the PTT, you have to manually try each DMR demodulation mode: activate the Null connector, and try the local echo test (by default it’s on DMR ID 9999) in each DMR demodulation mode to see which demod mode gives you the lowest BER (you can check the BER graph on the Status page, and also hear your own voice quality by using the local echo test).
