Changing Fusion Reflectors via radio

Post by geotek » Sat Jul 15, 2017 4:57 pm

Greetings:

I just purchased an Yaesu FT1xDR for c4fm use on the Openspot.
My question: How can I change rooms/reflectors from the HT? Is this possible?
I am using RT Systems software for programming the radio.
Thanks --Tom

Quoting from openSPOT's user manual:

You can change rooms with your C4FM radio by entering the Special command DTMF code (by default it’s *) followed by the desired room number (for example *99 for room 99). If you are using a DMR radio, then you can change rooms by starting a private call to the desired room number. You can switch FCS servers if you use 3 digits. Example: entering *303 will switch to FCS003 room 03.

If you want to change YSFreflector servers, set up different openSPOT config profiles for each server and switch between them. (Please see the user manual on how to change config profiles using your radio.)

I tried switching servers/rooms on my TYT380, if I am on the echo channel, all I hear is the touch tones coming back.

If you use an MD380, you can switch FCS rooms by starting a private call to their IDs.

Just send a 3 Digital Private Call and Openspot will switch to the required FCSServer and Room.

For Example

101 Privatecall FCSServer 1 Room 1 (Germany Nationwide)
106 Privatecall FCSServer 1 Room 6 (France Nationwide)
290 Privatecall FCSServer 2 Room 90 (America Link)
202 Privatecall FCSServer 2 Room 2 (State of Alabama)

Have fun !

If you don't want to change servers, you can just call the room number (1 or 2 digits).

First off, MANY thanks for a great product, we are having a lot of fun here in South East England!

I have an MD380. In the button section of the CPS, for the top button (above the PTT), I set it to "Manual dial for private".

All I need do then is the following:

Press that button,

Enter the numbers as above, (2 or 3 digits according to whether you want to change servers or only rooms)

PTT briefly. As I do this on the channel that I will be talking on,as soon as the Openspot has confirmed the change verbally, I then PTT again and start talking.... Works beautifully!

If you want, you can then use the red button to back out.

I have a feeling other DMR radios will be capable of something similar.

If you have NOT programmed the top (or some other) button, then it is done like this:

Green button,

Green button,

Down arrow to Manual dial

Green button,

Enter the numbers,

Stay on this screen, do not press anything else and PTT. Listen for confirmation, then use the red button to back out.

Hope that helps,

73 de Stan.
