Transmit UDP Hits

Post by K1dqham » Thu Jan 10, 2019 4:23 pm

I have had an Open Spot one for a year. I just reconnected it in Florida. The receive audio using DMR is fine and on the other end my tx audio is good except for periodic very short duration hits. They say it sounds like I’m occasionally using vox. I can see the hits as a new transmission line on Netwatch. There is zero loss shown on Netwatch. I have tried a few things: DMR Auto Cal, Updated Open Spot firmware to latest Public version, Updated Router Firmware. I have also tried my Open Spot in another condo in my building with the same results. I have not tried it in another condo building.

Any ideas what may be causing this issue?

Please check if VOX is turned off in your radio.

You can test your audio quality using the openSPOT's built-in local echo service on DMR ID 9999.
If it sounds fine then you can do further testing using the network echo which is usually on DMR ID 9990 on BrandMeister (with a private call).

Thanks ! By mistake I had the VOX box checked in the radio program on one channel. It now sounds fine.
