CC is 1. Admit Criteria is Always.

Just attempted to srf-asp-11.0066, using Mac OS X (10.11.6), and the update failed (solid RED status LED). The instructions for the firmware upgrade describe this as indicating failure but provide no further instructions.

I manually rebooted the device into the BootLoader and attempted a second time, and repeated the process, with a successful indication on the second iteration. Confirmed the software version is 0066.

After updating the firmware to 0066, the same problem occurs. In order to hear another station, the auto connect ID must be set to the specific talk group and the Group Call radio button must be selected. As occurred with prior to 0066, setting the auto connect ID to 0 and leaving the Private Call radio button selected results in not hearing transmissions made by the OpenSpot.

Can you please test it again with beta firmware version 0067? I've added a fix for the issue described by Hank, W5HJ (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=263)

If upgrading doesn't help, please answer the following questions:

Do you tested it with other radios than the MD380?
Which BM server are you using?
Which talkgroup do you set to auto connect (which talkgroup do you want to use)?
Are you using rerouting in the Homebrew connector?
Have you tried increasing openSPOT's TX power? (Seems trivial but sometimes users use too small TX power).
Does openSPOT's modem LED blinks red when you don't hear the transmission on your radio?
Can you confirm that you have linked to the given talkgroup by looking at the BM server's status.htm?

Please write additional info which may help us reproducing the issue.

All I have is an MD-380.

This is occurring on my unit, and two other units (all received yesterday by three separate individuals, all using MD-380 radios). A fourth unit is due to arrive with another individual today and he has Connect System radios. We'll see what happens there.

My unit and one other unit are using Brandmeister 3103. One of the other units experience this issue is set to Brandmeister 3102.

Using Idaho Statewide / 3116, but have tried California Statewide / 3106 with the same issue.

Using the Homebrew connector.

I have changed the power indicator and no problem. I don't think that the transmit power is relevant since a configuration work around provides function, albeit limited (requiring manual configuration of the OpenSpot to change talk groups).

The Modem LED is solid red when transmissions are not heard.

BM shows correct status in both failure and operating modes. I can hear myself on Hose. Other stations can hear me. I just cannot hear them when Auto Connect is 0.

If you have a logging version of firmware that would help you to determine root cause, I'd be more than happy to collect data for you.

Correction to last:

When station not heard, the modem LED is modulated red at a high repetition rate.

Ok thank you for the info.

Are you using rerouting in the Homebrew connector?
Can you confirm that you have linked to the given talkgroup by looking at the BM server's status.htm?
Can you please test it again with beta firmware version 0067?

Firmware version 0067 is not posted. When posted, I'll be happy to try it...

I am not seeing a setting for rerouting. Where do I look for that?

Yes, the BM server shows me on the talk group that I transmit on (looking at last heard) and I can hear myself on BM Hose.

To see the rerouting setting, you have to turn advanced mode on.

Flashed version 0067 and confirmed firmware version in status page.

The same behavior persists with 0067.

1. When using Auto connect = 0 / Private call, and have MD-380 operating on TG 3116, other stations hear me on 3116 but cannot hear other stations when they transmit.

2. When using Auto connect = 3116 / Group call, and have MD-380 operating on TG 9 and make a group contact call to 3116, I am heard on 3116 by other stations and can hear other stations when they respond.

Looking at Connectors in advanced mode in the failure case:

Modem receive frequency (MHz): 441.000000
Modem transmit frequency (MHz): 441.000000
Server: United States/3103 (bm.ham-dmr.org)
Server address: bm.ham-dmr.org
Port: 62030
Auto connect to ID (0 to disable): 0 / Private call radio button selected
Auto connect TDMA channel: 0
Auto connect intervale (sec): 0
DMO mode TDMA channel: 0
Route C4FM calls to ID: 3116 / Private call radio button selected
Reroute DMR TG9 calls to ID (0 to disable): 3116 / Group call radio button is selected
Keepalive interval (sec): 5
RX timeout (sec): 30

For the work-around case, where a group call to 3116 on TG 9 provides function, the Connectors data shows the following:

Modem receive frequency (MHz): 441.025000
Modem transmit frequency (MHz): 441.025000
Server: United States/3103 (bm.ham-dmr.org)
Server address: bm.ham-dmr.org
Port: 62030
Auto connect to ID (0 to disable): 3116 / Group call radio button selected
Auto connect TDMA channel: 0
Auto connect intervale (sec): 0
DMO mode TDMA channel: 0
Route C4FM calls to ID: 3116 / Private call radio button selected
Reroute DMR TG9 calls to ID (0 to disable): 3116 / Group call radio button is selected
Keepalive interval (sec): 5
RX timeout (sec): 30

Additional information:

When I add TG 9 to my receive group, and have Auto connect 0 / Private call, I am now hearing stations when they transmit.

The issue seems to be that the OpenSpot is using TG 9 when it transmits.
