Transmitting but getting no return

Post by Roberteod » Tue Feb 28, 2017 3:31 am

I have finally gotten to connect with openspot. I am transmitting but it appears nobody can hear me. I am using the FT991. I am fairly sure I am getting out because I saw the following on the status page.
Group C4FM voice call from modem
Time call made
(late entry, DN2, timeout)
I am on FCS003.xreflector.net, server/room number:090 (America Link WiresX), Port:62500. In advanced settings under CCS7 I have my DMR ID
I am hoping that someone can help me join the WIRES X community via the openspot.

Does the status field on the status page say "standby"? Does the status LED is steady green?

If yes, then you are successfully connected, and the log entry means your call was sent to the network. You can do an echo test on FCS room 99.

When doing an echo test should I hear my transmission coming back from my radio?

If you are connected to FCS room 99, and press PTT, the server records what you are talking to your radio. After you release the PTT, the server plays the recording back.

I tried the echo test again and I heard a small amount of garbled voice. I could not make any sense of it.

Please send photos of your current connector configuration and status page to support@sharkrf.com
Or you can export your active profile's config and send that file to support@sharkrf.com

I run into this issue also. Resetting the C4FM modem to defaults will clear it up. I you switch to digital wide, you can hear the echo. Or you can restore from a working profile.
Thanks

You are a gentleman and a scholar and there are darn few of us left. I reset the C4FM modem settings and changed from Narrow to wide. And had the first of what I hope to be many, contacts. I am so glad I decided to check here once more.

Things are still working well. And I learned how to do a screenshot. I still can't get on DMR yet but I bet it will happen soon.
