Best Practice Battery Use and OpenSpot2

Post by pennacnp » Wed Nov 07, 2018 3:02 pm

Hello all,

I would like to use the OpenSpot2 in a mobile setting and power the device via a battery pack or via a USB power port from the car. Is one favored over the other?

When powering the OpenSpot2 via a battery is it OK to just leave it on?

Is there a specific battery type / size I should purchase to use with the OpenSpot2?

Thanks in advance.

This is the one I use. As a test I left it on 24/7 to power the OS2. Lasts about 3-4 days as the OS2 has very little draw. It works great mobile to power both the OS2 and my cellphone.

Both options can work.

Yes, you can leave it on. The openSPOT2 consumes very little power.

Can confirm, the OS2 uses VERY little power.

Make sure your car USB port does actually provide power. Otherwise, there are a lot of good 12v port-to-USB power charger products on the market that will work fine.
