I must be missing something...

Post by pennacnp » Sun Nov 11, 2018 5:49 pm

Greetings,

I have a Motorola XPR 7550e for a DMR radio. I have programmed various channels as different talk groups within the code plug. However, I am curious how I may change the talk group from the radio without changing the pre-programmed channel. As an example, is there a way to use DTMF tones to direct the openspot to connect to TAC 310 when I am on Virginia?

Thanks!

Yes. On my Yaesu FT70, I use #310 or wherever you want to go. -K6UDA

Thank you.

I gave that a try and it didn't seem to do anything on my Motorola. Is this function not available for this commercial radio?

You have to be able to edit the channel from the front panel of the radio, or be able to change the talk group in a manual way. As far as I know, Motorola radios do not have FPP (Front Panel Programming) capability.

You'd need to have one channel for each talk group you wished to transmit to.
