TG 240888 "SM Openspot"

Post by SM0RUX » Tue Nov 20, 2018 6:47 am

Hi,

Feel free to join talkgroup 240888 "SM Openspot". The purpose is mainly socialising between openSPOT/openSPOT2 owners/users but of course we can also help each other in case of problems with either your hotspot or how to setup your radio.

Despite the name "SM Openspot" the main language is english, but other languages are allowed.

Looking forward to hear from you soon!

OK, here's the question/problem: low TX audio while using openSPOT2 on C4FM?
What should the inner deviation be set to please?

The inner deviation setting has nothing to do with audio volume level. Try searching for a gain setting in your radio.

If you use the C4FM radio to reach a DMR network, then the audio level is lower from the network as DMR uses a lower gain setting when encoding audio than C4FM which causes the volume to be lower.

I added 240888 last night and used it to talk to another OS2 user so we could figure out how to PC back and forth with his anytone 878 and my alinco MD5. Some small codeplug tweaking and got it to work. Not sure how often folks get on that TG but I may listen to it from time to time to see how active it is.

Thanks
