What should the inner deviation be for C4FM using FTM-400XDR ON THE NEW SHARKRF openSPOT2?

Re: C4FM Inner deviation
If the radio has half deviation mode turned off, then 900Hz, if it's on then 450Hz.

Re: C4FM Inner deviation
I don`t think the FTM-400XDR has the option for half deviation mode, if it has, I have not been able to find it. I have the option on my FT2D but not my FTM-400XDR.
Re: C4FM Inner deviation
Should we use half-deviation mode on Yaesu FT-2DR and OS2? In what this makes it better, if that is the case?
Re: C4FM Inner deviation
Half deviation should be turned off as the more narrower the signal is the harder is to demodulate it correctly. If you don't have the option to turn off half deviation then use the C4FM Half Deviation modem mode in the OS2.

Re: C4FM Inner deviation
OK it was set to 900 by default, so i'm good there.
Now is there a way on the OS2 to get more mic gain/TX audio?
My FTM-400XDR is set to MAX and it's ok but not loud?

Re: C4FM Inner deviation
The openSPOT2 does not touch/reencode the audio stream, it is left intact. Only error correction is performed.
Try searching for a gain setting in your radio.
