OS2 Server

Post by Buckee » Tue Dec 25, 2018 6:13 pm

Having an issue with the OS2 server or perhaps the OS2

when we connect to the server we use TG9 on DMR as well as NXDN as it is the local TG used

what happens is the TG9 or just the number 9 is being polled from a date base and then it displays the person whom has owner ship of ID 9 on the OS status page

If we change it to TG1 as an example it displays the person's name whom again is assigned ID number 1

then after a bit it appears to change to what I believe the way it should be

so begs the question why does one see another callsign that we are not even in communication with

a snapshot is enclosed to explain things as we see it

NXDN ID 9 is assigned to KE8BGA. That's why you see his callsign if you call TG9 using an NXDN radio.

are you able to explain why this happens???
one would think this should not be the case that a TG number is associated to someones callsign
so is there a recommendation of which TG to use as one could pick any random TG number and it may be assigned to some one and one would see the same problem

radioid.net handles NXDN ID registrations. The NXDN ID space is very limited as NXDN only supports 16 bit IDs which allows only 65536 IDs.

As far as I know the default talkgroup is TG0 for NXDN calls. Use that.
