DMR etiquette question

Post by dhoover » Wed Apr 24, 2019 3:06 pm

I'm new to the hobby and DMR. I am using a Baofeng RD-5R to an Openspot2. (Anytone 878 arrives today.)
I have each OS2 TG as a separate channel on the RD-5R. When I switch to one channel, say TAC-310, how can I be sure that I'm not "stepping on" someone's QSO when I key up to activate that TG? I can use the BM manager or dashboard to make that a static TG, but I'm not always at my computer or cell phone.
I'm just trying to be a polite new ham.
Thanks,
Dave

The server won't forward your call if there's a call already in progress in the talkgroup.

Thanks. It seems to be all good.
BTW loving the Openspot2. Great device. Great support.
