How to setup for update

Post by Jextra » Sun Jan 06, 2019 5:06 pm

I am following firmware update instructions. No where does it say disconnect from internet or don't disconnect. This may or may not be important. Videos show it disconnected, does it need to be disconnected or not? Really quite tired of screwing with this.

As soon as you execute the reboot to bootloader command then it will be disconnected, only the USB host will be active.

Thanks Brian, I will try once again. With the advent of Peanut it is becoming a mute point.

David has discontinued development of Peanut and turned off the server. Saw something about it on Twitter.

I know nothing about Peanut.

FYI, David recanted and has posted an update at the App Store, looks like it will continue, worked 2 stations early today. I'm still wanting to do the update rather than just let the openspot gather dust. Most troubling is the flashing RED status led.

The firmware upgrade is done through the USB cable. It does not matter if you have an Ethernet cable connected or not. Make sure you use a USB cable which supports data transfer, not just charging to connect the openSPOT to your computer.
