Set up Iphone as default wifi connection when home Wifi not accessiblersonall

Post by kd2rnn » Fri May 31, 2019 5:26 am

Just watched K6UDA video on using iphone as default wifi when home wifi is not available.

Put iphone ssid and password in 2nd network info box
Made sure ssid name(no special characters) and password were correct,
Moved out of range of home wifi
Shut off os2, put iphone on personal hot spot page and then turned on OS2. Also tried rebooting phone Keep getting message that it is trying to connect to WIFI (Iphone ?) but it never does.
When I get home it connects to home WIFI
What am I doing wrong ?
Does anyone have good instructions on connecting to an iphone as a default when home wifi not available ?

You only need to keep the personal hotspot page on the iPhone open while doing a wireless scan, otherwise just keep the hotspot feature turned on. Allow the OS2 1-2 minutes to connect. Make sure you use the latest OS2 firmware.

The latest beta firmware (v41, this will become stable on Monday) has a wireless network save feature which lets you save a Wi-Fi network from the wireless scan list, so the SSID will exactly match, even if it has special characters in it. I think you should try using v41, do a wireless scan while the iPhone's personal hotspot page is open and save the network to the 2nd SSID slot.

You can also turn of the hotspot and back on and should connect with on 30 seconds. I have to this sometimes.
