Wires-X and YSF Reflector

Post by PY4CK »

Hi,

I use a Yaesu FT-3 with the OS3 and sometimes with the local repeater which works digitally via a PI-STAR.

When I am on the OS3 and press the X button I get wires-x going but when I try to search YSF reflectors they simply do not appear although they are in my TAG list.

When I do the same via the repeater, they do appear.

Why is that?

Thank you,

Eduardo

Make sure you use the latest beta firmware on your openSPOT3.

I am on the latest beta firmware version. Always. Still, the situation persists.

Please re-save the servers to your transceiver, as they may use different internal IDs.

Norbert,

I have double checked and discovered that it is not working on FCS reflectors.

I confirm being in the last version of BETA firmware.

I have prepared a short video to show that with the PI-STAR I can work it out but the same does not happen with the OS3.

Maybe you can give a hint.

Thank you. Video below.

Your video shows that the openSPOT3 is connected to a YSFReflector server. This means the openSPOT3 will only do search in the YSFReflector server list.

What you can do is:

- Set up 2 configuration profiles, one which has the FCS connector activated, and one which has the YSFReflector activated. You can switch between these configuration profiles using your transceiver, and then you'll be able to browser and search the corresponding server list.
- Save servers you want to use in your transceiver. You can save both FCS and YSFReflector servers. The openSPOT3 will automatically switch to the required connector when you select a server.

Very good Norbert. The explanation is clear and I trust it will work.

Thanks again for the prompt reply.

Kind regards,

Eduardo
