I hope my question does not seem weird.
So using a SHARKRF openspot#1 (any model) or (any version) with a transceiver such as a Motorola xpr5550 to access DMR.
I understand distance to the hotspot for snooping and the hotspot RF power settings are all determining factors.
Is it possible for someone to "snoop" on the traffic between openspot#1 and the transceiver using software tools like DSD and a rtl-SDR to intercept the traffic and decode the HOTSPOT password.
Maybe the same can be asked about the pi-star ????.
I may have to also ask Hanon / sharkrf this question ????
thanks and sorry if this sounds like a creepy question.

Passwords are passed as hashes by the openSPOT so even if an attacker has access to your traffic, it is extremely hard to get the password out of the data stream, unless you use very weak passwords.
