Transmit power already set to 13 dBm (19.95 mW). I don't see how this would affect the receive audio on my HT, but it didn't make any difference.

Could the openSPOT be defective?

Can you please try using plain 4FSK modulation mode in the openSPOT (modem page), not 4FSK raised cosine and see if it helps?

I believe this has solved the problem, however I will do more testing. Any idea what would have changed in my environment that would necessitate changing this setting?

Thank you for your help!

I was having this problem as well with my TYT MD-380G.. Changing the modulation from 4FSK raised cosine to 4FSK fixed it. I have had the problem for a long time where I would be listening along to the conversation and then it would go into the motor boat sound loop. I though for a while it was related to inband data, but turning it off didn't make things better. Changing the modulation did the trick.

I would have my Motorola 7550 sitting next to my MD-380G. The Motorola would never have the issue but the MD-380G would repeatedly.

Glad I came back to the forums and saw this post.

This as assisted in nearly eliminating the stuttering I was hearing too on the MD380. And it wasn't just on the Brandmeister network.
