For info, I have found that changing the demod to 4FSK Raised Cosine seems to have cleared the problem for me. This may or may not work for others but definitely something changed between firmware v0126 and 0127
As fare as I can remember mine has been set to 4FSK since it was new (early 2017). I saw that some others upgraded to the beta 0129 and started working again. So, I did the same and it still did not work. I then change my DMR modem mode to 4FSK (Raised Cosine) and it started working. While I am good with this, I don't understand why it stopped working. IMO the audio does not sound as good using Raised Cosine.

Okay, I ran 0129 for about a day. Even with switching the modem modulation to 4FSK Raised Cosine just to get it to work, the audio was much worse. While the setting made it work the audio would break up regularly. This build is borderline unusable. With all that, I rolled back to 0125, recalibrated and changed back to 4FSK like is was. The calibration changed from D to C with this build. Now everyone sounds great. I think I will stick with build 0125 for now. It works great.

I am pretty new at this BUT. I have a MD-380 and it does NOT work with the openspot modem on 4FSK. It does work with 4FSK Raised Cosine. I am using 127. Should I use an earlier version or maybe a later beta version?. Also where do you get ver 125 or 126? I listed all the fimware available files and the the next oldest available is ver 123...

FWIW my DM-380 has the md380 Toolz firmware.

Ok thanks, I see ver 125 and 126 are beta files. I was looking at stable release files.

Now, I am more confused than before. After my last post I reverted my version 127 to 123. SURPRISE, it works MUCH better than 127 on RX. Also 4FSK now works fine.

So what should I do? Keep my openspot on ver 123 or upgrade to a later ver like 125 or 126? Definitely I will NOT use ver 127 again.

FWIW I have had my openspot for a few weeks and had been using it with version 127 with my FT2DR fusion HT. I only got the MD-380 5 days ago.

Please try the latest beta v130 and make sure openSPOT's modulation mode is 4FSK RC (it must be in RC mode, not plain 4FSK). If your radio still does not work with v130 and 4FSK RC does not help, please contact me in email at ha2non@sharkrf.com and I'll send you some test firmwares to try out various settings. Please refer to this forum topic when you write me so I know you have this issue, and also please write me your radio's type.

I just loaded in 0130, and it is working well so far with my Connect Systems CS750. I had previously tried 0129 in raised cosine mode, and that was hardly getting any audio at all through to the CS750. 0127 had lots of stuttering, so I had gone back to 0126, which was stable. Seems 0130 is a winner, thanks!

NO Joy here.ver 0130 is actually worse than 127. The RX audio stutters regularly and the audio also has a "watery" sound to it. I listened to TG 3100 for an hour and could not take any more. I went back to ver 123 which sounds great, no stutters and no watery sound.

With 123 I use 4FSK and with 130 I used 4FSK RC as you asked. I am using a MD-380. I will send email as asked to you..

Interesting, as we changed nothing in the modem code since v127. The only change related to the modem was that the default demodulation mode was changed from 4FSK to 4FSK RC.

Have you tried changing your radio's RX and TX reference frequencies to medium or high?

My Rx and TX reference freqs have been set to medium. When I first got the MD-380 radio the default was low. However I noticed several posts from you on this forum telling hams to use Medium. So I changed to medium. I did not notice any difference between low or medium.
