I would like to connect to a FUSION repeater using an AT-D878UV through an OpenSpot2. Can anyone point me to specific directions, including programming the channel?
Thanks.
HA2NON
Find out what server/room the repeater is connected to, then connect your OS2 to the exact same server. Send your calls to TG9 on your DMR transceiver to talk.
Rick71
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot.
Rick71
I cant figure out if I have TG9 in my codeplug. We share a plug around here and then edit.
HA2NON
Edit the channel which you use for the openSPOT2. Set the TX contact of this channel to TG9, so your transceiver will start calls to TG9 if you press PTT using this channel.
Rick71
It appears I already have a TG9 channel.
On the connectors screen...
... I changed Hombrew to YSFReflector.
... System Fusion Reflector modem mode to C4FM
... Server First-Coast (99268)
I have no idea if I connected.
I changed server to US Texas-Nexus (62554), but couldn't connect to server.

If you have a DMR transceiver, then you have to use DMR modem mode on your openSPOT2. You can test the connection between your transceiver and a server by using an FCS server's room 99, like FCS002 room 99. Room 99 is the echo service room.
Rick71
I don't know how to get to FCS002 room 99. Hopefully I have attached a picture
of my connector.
HA2NON
Use the FCS connector to connect to FCS servers.
Rick71
I do not get an echo after I talk.
Also, I found the Server/Room I was looking for, but don't hear any audio when I key.
Getting closer, I think. Thanks.
HA2NON
First test the connection between your transceiver and the OS2 with the OS2's built-in local echo service. Make a call to DMR ID 9999 (it does not matter if it's a private or a group call, the OS2 will always answer with a private call). Do you hear back yourself?
Rick71
I don't know how to do that. Can you point me to a place where I can read up on how to do that?
I have Googled for it and search the manual and can't find it.
Thank you for your patience
Rick71
I found making a call from the key pad on page on page 15 of the manual.
I did not hear a reply.
HA2NON
Verify that you transmit on the correct frequency with the correct color code.
Make sure you've ran DMR AutoCal.
Does the OS2's LED blink green when you press PTT on your transceiver?
Rick71
For some reason Echo is sort of working this morning. It misses a word or two right after starting to echo.
I can't find AutoCal in the web interface, but I did find directions in the manual, so I haven't run AutoCal.
HA2NON
You'll find AutoCal as a connector on the Connectors page. Activate it and run the procedure.
Rick71
Ran AutoCal twice. Echo works fine now.
HA2NON
Ok, now try the FCS server echo service to verify that communication between a server and your transceiver is working.
Rick71
I put the radio on TG9. No reply from the Fusion Echo server.
HA2NON
Is your OS2 connected successfully to the server? (Check the status on the status page, or the web interface's footer)
Does the OS2 LED blink green when you press PTT on the transceiver?
Please post a screenshot of the call log showing your calls to TG9.
