CROSS MODE !!!!!!

I own the openspot 4 pro from the day it came out,cross mode hase poor quality audio on all modes.
I inly have one radio DMR wich work great on DMR but any other mode waste of time,its a shame spend all this money on the PRO for cross mode (DSTAR) and dosent work,neither C4FM ........

benybarr I connect to my OS4P via a Fusion radio (FTM-300DR) and cross-mode to D-Star, DMR and P25. However, it's not always obvious how to set it up. The information is in the manual but I belive what's missing are a few application notes.

In other words, the manual lists the "ingredients" but what's missing are simple "recipes".

Yes, you can preset everything to be able to switch modes via DTMF and the setup is listed. But some simple examples could go a long way to help people understand the process.

It took me a while to get it right.

Do you hear back yourself correctly using the openSPOT4's built-in local service on DMR ID 9999?
If yes, test your cross mode voice using an FCS server's echo service in room 99. Do you hear yourself back correctly? Please try several FCS servers, preferably the closest to your physical location.

Just got my OS4+, it works great with my iPhone! And DMR works well on my AnyTone 878! I have setup my profiles for cross mode (DStar, NXDN, C4FM) no worries! I can switch by using 9001-9005! Awesome!

So - while I get audio on DMR - nothing on the other modes… I know I have missed something on the AnyTone or the connector… any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

JohnKerley Make sure the modem mode is always kept on DMR if you use a DMR transceiver. Also make sure you've set up the RX group list correctly on your transceiver so its squelch opens on calls to TG9 https://manuals.sharkrf.com/openspot4/en/setting-up-your-transceiver.html#dmr-radio-setup

HA2NON - Thanks!! Took some trial and error - but have this working on all 3 radios (DMR, Fusion, and Dstar) DStar Ref030 C - has trouble connecting... I think the Dstar web site times out and loops.

Figured out the battery issue - had to cycle the battery three time. On Home WiFi - DMR TG91 - get about 8 hours - on iphone hotspot about 7 hours. The device reports low battery switching from 5% to 12% for the last 90 minutes or so.

So far AWESOME!!

REF030C is one of the busiest reflectors, it wouldn't surprise me if that's why you are having problems keeping connected.

Tyrbiter I found if I choose A rather than C - then change to C in Quick setup I can connect... I don't do much Dstar anymore - but my PiStar is always connected...

You are 100% correct though! I spoke with Don Arnold yesterday - he too has the same issue...
